In a battle of winless teams, it was the New York Jets who left the Monday Night Football matchup with the Miami Dolphins still winless. While the final score of the game was 27-21, the game was actually more embarrassing for the Jets than the score indicates. Now 0-4, head coach Aaron Glenn has seemingly reached his breaking point.
This was evident after the game, as reporters heard Glenn yelling so loud in the locker room that he could be heard in the press conference room. The intense head coach clearly wasn’t happy with the product his team put on the field and he let them hear it after the game.

By the time Glenn made it to the press conference room, he was no longer yelling, but his disappointment and frustration were evident. The first-year head coach emphasized that New York had no chance to win after committing 13 penalties and turning the ball over three times. This led to Glenn saying his team needs to learn how not to lose games before they can start winning them.
The head coach points out an important issue. It’s one thing to be outplayed, but it’s another to just do basic things wrong. On Monday, New York was on the wrong side of both.
In addition to the penalties and turnovers, the Jets had a poor night of tackling, were bad on special teams, and had several head-scratching moments throughout the game. With most teams already having a better roster than the Jets, they can’t afford not to do the little things well.
If Braelon Allen doesn't fumble at the Dolphins' doorstep in the first quarter, this game might've had a different outcome. You can say the same for a handful of other plays as well.
It’s on Glenn to get things turned around, and he’s committed to doing so. His passion has been evident since he returned to the Jets, but everyone is waiting for that passion to turn into a win. Glimpses of competent football would suffice, too.
