The New York Jets sent a fairly strong contingent to Miami Pro Day on Monday night, with head coach Aaron Glenn, general manager Darren Mougey, and offensive coordinator Frank Reich in attendance, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Miami was one of the most talented programs in college football last season, falling just short to the Indiana Hoosiers in the National Championship game, but that doesn't change the fact that they may have some NFL-caliber players

Who could the Jets and their top brass have been eyeing up while watching workouts in Miami on Monday night?

Miami prospects the Jets are likely keeping their eye on

DE Rueben Bain Jr.

Miami's best prospect in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft is easily edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. He's certainly an option for the Jets with the No. 2 overall pick, given their obvious need for more help off the edge. He was one of the catalysts for Miami's run to the championship game in 2025.

Throughout his elite junior season, Bain racked up 9.5 sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and even blocked a field goal attempt in the first round of the College Football Playoff against Texas A&M. He was an All-American and ended up winning the ACC Defensive Player of the Year Award for his efforts.

The Jets are more likely than not to address their pass rush with the No. 2 overall pick, and Bain is squarely in play. If they feel his 6-foot-3, 275-pound frame is the perfect addition to their new defensive scheme, and aren't worried about his arm length, he could end up being the second player selected in the upcoming draft.

DE Akheem Mesidor

Bain's running mate, defensive end Akheem Mesidor, was the other star on the defensive line that helped lead Miami's elite defense throughout their title run in 2025. He's not considered as good a player as Bain, but is still considered a first-round prospect nonetheless.

Mesidor stuffed the stat sheet a little more than Bain did in 2025, recording 12.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss in 15 games. But you could argue his teammates' presence across from him on the Hurricanes' defensive line created ample opportunities for Mesidor to get after opposing quarterbacks.

The sixth-year senior is unlikely to be in play for the Jets at No. 2 overall, but in the off chance New York opts to target a non-pass rusher with the second pick in the draft, such as linebacker Sonny Styles or safety Caleb Downs, Mesidor would be a solid addition at No. 16.

QB Carson Beck

The Jets are going to draft a quarterback at some point in the 2026 NFL Draft; the only question remains when and where. Quarterback Carson Beck arguably has the most experience in the draft of any of the potential options, and could be a good pick-up on Day 3. Frank Reich surely was at the Pro Day to get an up-close look at him.

In 16 games this past season, the sixth-year senior completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,813 and tossed 30 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. It was arguably Beck's best season of college football, and it nearly ended with his third National Championship.

Not too long ago, Beck was considered a first-round quarterback prospect. Now, he's projected to be a developmental project and may not end up hearing his name called until the fourth or fifth round of the upcoming draft. The Jets could take a flier on him, but his trajectory likely remains as a career backup.

CB Keionte Scott

Cornerback isn't necessarily a dire need for the Jets. Still, they could certainly use some depth behind Brandon Stephens, 2025 third-round pick Azareye'h Thomas, and recent free agent signing Nahshon Wright. Enter Hurricanes corner, Keionte Scott.

After three years at Auburn, Scott transferred to Miami for his senior season, playing in 14 games and recording 64 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and five passes broken up. Maybe he's not ready to start right away, but he could develop under the tutelage of Aaron Glenn and Brian Duker.

Scott is projected to be picked towards the end of the second round, so if the Jets really feel the need to pick up a new cornerback, they could use the No. 44 overall pick on him. It remains to be seen just how big a need team brass thinks cornerback is.
