There are a handful of position groups in the 2025 NFL Draft that are a lot deeper than others, and one of the most talent-rich groups this year is at tight end. The New York Jets are in prime striking distance at pick number seven overall to be able to land arguably the crown jewel of the class: Penn State's Tyler Warren.

But even if the Jets miss out on Tyler Warren or pass on him altogether, they will be in good shape to add an impact player almost regardless of what round they decide to take a tight end.

What prospects could even be considered steals if the Jets are able to get them outside of the first round? Where could they pivot if they don't get Tyler Warren?

Top 3 tight end prospects who could be steals for the NY Jets in 2025

1. Mason Taylor, LSU

Not that it matters completely, but Mason Taylor's got Hall of Fame bloodlines (his father is legendary NFL pass rusher Jayson Taylor) and at least a brief connection to the Jets. Jason Taylor played one year with the Jets back in 2010 and although he played most of his career with the Miami Dolphins, it could be that the family returns to the AFC East here in 2025.

Mason Taylor is one of the top tight ends in the class who has even received some late first-round hype in recent weeks. He's athletic, he's got great size, and he is a natural pass catcher. Taylor has shown over his last three years with LSU that he's got the ability to also be an even better pro than he was in college with much more upside in the passing game.

Taylor is one of the youngest players in this year's draft class and if the Jets go another direction in round one, he might be the perfect option for them early in the second.

2. Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green

Not everybody loves Harold Fannin Jr. as an NFL prospect, which has gotten to very strange levels of discourse lately. Fannin just set the FBS record with 117 receptions at Bowling Green last year and while a lot of those touches were fabricated to just get their best player the ball, Fannin showed plenty that will translate to the NFL as well.

One of the best traits Fannin brings to the table? His soft hands. He's going to be a reliable target right away in the NFL and he's crafty in space after the catch. For a Jets offense with Justin Fields, you're going to be looking to the quick passing game often and a player like Fannin can give you plenty in that regard.

Based on the way he's been getting talked about lately, if he is available in the 3rd round, he'd be a steal for the Jets.

3. Elijah Arroyo, Miami

Elijah Arroyo is going to have a lot of fans in the NFL scouting community because as a late bloomer, he really has untapped potential. We saw glimpses early in his collegiate career, but he really burst onto the scene at Miami this past season after two years of limited playing time and dealing with injuries.

Arroyo averaged nearly 17 yards per reception with seven touchdowns last year and we really saw him progress as the year went along and he gained more and more chemistry with likely number one overall pick Cam Ward.

At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Arroyo really has everything teams are looking for at the tight end position and if he's sitting there on Day 2 for the Jets, they might have a tough time passing him up.
