2025 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: NY Jets taking DL, CB at No. 4 overall
By Mike Luciano
It stinks to discuss NY Jets mock drafts when their most anticipated season in decades isn't even half-over, but going 2-6 with five consecutive losses, including one to the New England Patriots, will be enough to get even the most optimistic fan thinking about the future.
Many of the early mock drafters have the Jets picking a quarterback with this high of a pick, as Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders have been linked to the team in the past. There are three mocks, however, who have the Jets going in very different directions.
Pro Football Focus was one of many sites that had the Jets passing on some of the top quarterbacks in the draft to select Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham. Immediately, Graham would help the team's run defense.
Tankathon has the Jets finding a DJ Reed replacement by taking another Wolverine in cornerback Will Johnson. CBS Sports has them continuing to stockpile talent on the offensive line, replacing Tyron Smith with LSU standout Will Campbell this high in the order.

Johnson is fighting with Travis Hunter for the title of top cornerback in this class. A 6-2 corner with great physicality and skills at the point of the attack, Johnson might be the best pure cover corner in this class. As good as Sauce Gardner is, Johnson may be a more physical tackler than the All-Pro cover man.
Campbell is likewise trying to beat out Texas' Kelvin Banks for the title of best offensive tackle in this class. His athleticism for his size is truly remarkable. Campbell, who excels in pass protection, could give the Jets a set of starting tackles for the next decade alongside 2023 No. 11 pick Olu Fashanu.
Graham may be the most practical of these three moves, as he addresses what has been the weakest area on this Jets roster in 2024. Graham may be a run-stuffer first and foremost, but he has tremendous pass-rush upside. Quinnen Williams will no longer be double-teamed every snap if Graham reaches his full potential.
If the Jets choose not to pick a quarterback in this class, they could look to a major defensive upgrade to replace one of their outgoing veterans. The possibilities are wide open for whoever is in place next year, as neither Rodgers nor Douglas should assume they are installed as the starters in the 2025 season.
