Heading into Week 8 fantasy football, New York Jets tight end Chris Herndon is not worth starting against a tough defense in the Chicago Bears.

If it’s one thing to know about the Chicago Bears is that their defense is pretty good in almost every aspect, especially when it comes to covering tight ends. While New York Jets tight end Chris Herndon has been riding some serious momentum these past few weeks scoring a touchdown in each of his last two games, he’s about to get hit with reality in Week 8 fantasy football.

In the grand scheme of things, Herndon will get shut down and not amount to much of anything against the tough defense of the Bears. The Jets offense was hit with several big injuries (Quincy Enunwa is out, Robby Anderson is doubtful to play) as it will make things even harder for Herndon to continue his touchdown streak with all eyes on him due to his previous success.

Ideally, the Bears defense will easily lock him down to avoid him making it three straight games with a touchdown. They’ve done it for the most part so far this season as Week 8 won’t be any different.

Fantasy football owners would be wise to sit Herndon this week and look for another viable tight end that is entering a favorable matchup. This game has disaster written all over it for the Jets as it’s unlikely they’ll be leaving the Windy City with a much-needed win.

Herndon has the potential to be a solid tight end for the Jets but still has a lot of work ahead of him to get to such a level where he is a go-to target for quarterback Sam Darnold. He’s shown spurts of brilliance here and there but needs more time to reach his overall potential.

Unfortunately, that won’t be the case this time around. Sit Herndon this week and don’t even think twice about it. He’s not worth wasting a slot on in Week 8 fantasy football lineup.
