Heading into Week 13 fantasy football, if you own running back Bilal Powell, he’s a must-start against the Kansas City Chiefs.
When it comes to running the football and establishing the ground game, the New York Jets continue to get it all wrong. Instead of focusing on their younger players at the position like Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire, they continue to try and get more out of the injured Matt Forte. It’s not only cutting into Powell’s reps but also his overall fantasy football value. Hopefully, all that is about to change.
This week, with a matchup in Week 13 at home against the Kansas City Chiefs, expect to see Powell put on a clinic and return to form. He’s healthy and considering his subpar performances over the past few weeks due to not getting his usual amount of reps to do what he does best, expect the Jets to feed him the rock in this contest. They need to do whatever it takes to end their current two-game losing streak which means putting their top players like Powell in a position to thrive.
Besides that, Week 13 is a special one all across the NFL. Besides Powell who will be wearing customized cleats to bring awareness to colon cancer, many players across the league will be wearing their own ones to support the My Cause, My Cleats campaign.

Powell, unfortunately, lost one of his best friends to colon cancer and will undoubtedly play even more inspired football. It’s the kind of motivation that can easily put him back into getting over 100 yards rushing and scoring at least a touchdown or two.
START OR SIT?: Fantasy Pros Start or Sit Assistant Tool
Due to this and the fact that Forte is listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup, makes this a no-brainer when it comes to whether or not to start or sit Powell. Start him and don’t second guess it since this has the makings of him having one of if not the best game of the year to start the new month of December with a much-needed win.
