The New York Jets got it right when it came to selected safety Jamal Adams in the 2017 NFL Draft. His on-the-field contributions will be huge but his leadership is what separates him from the rest.
The New York Jets turned heads for the best reasons in the 2017 NFL Draft. One of the best moves for the team was drafting safety Jamal Adams, whose athletic abilities are exactly as professional as his words regarding his opportunity to play for Jets Nation.
In an article written by Gary Phillips by The Jets Wire, Adams gives a quick yet inspiring message to Jets fans everywhere via Twitter. Needless to say, this young man is everything they can ask for and much more just from a leadership point of view.
Selecting Adams was indeed the move that the Jets were absolutely correct on making. Not only is he excited and thankful for the Jets for drafting him, but they needed a safety that will be a better option than Calvin Pryor, who has not been what everyone has expected him to be.

Adams has what it takes as far as being a leader, and has a knack for making big defensive plays. He spent three college seasons that were very productive during his time playing for LSU.
He totaled 209 tackles, five interceptions, and two sacks. He has started 36 games and truly made a name for himself as one of the top safeties in the college scene.
Best of all, Adams is no stranger to starting. He appears to be respectable and an athlete with a good mindset and positive outlook on his future playing for the Jets. His will to make a good and very respectable impression on the Jets is actually amazing.
In an article written by James Parks of 247 sports, here is what Adams had to say about earning respect and how he plans to go about it:
“When you just come in and you work as hard as you can, you gain the respect of the coaching staff and your teammates. When they see that you’re one of those guys who just wants to do the right things, who wants to come in and get Ws for the organization, they’re going to respect you. Once you get that respect, the rest follows.”
