Heading into Fantasy Football Week 6 action, running back Matt Forte of the New York Jets should sit this week.

When it comes to his fantasy football value, running back Matt Forte has unfortunately been inconsistent this season. It’s not so much his efforts but more of the dysfunctional offense of the New York Jets.

So far this season, Forte has underperformed. He sent fantasy owners into a frenzy after his surreal Week 2 performance against the Buffalo Bills. In that game, Forte totaled 100 rushing yards, 30 attempts, and three touchdowns.

Since then, Forte hasn’t been the same. Whether it got to his head, dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, or age catching up to him, things aren’t looking good for him in his debut season with the Jets.

Heading into this week, Forte and the Jets hit the road to face the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. Considering how stout the Cardinals’ defense is, it looks more like Forte will once again be a non-factor.

Forte has yet to score another touchdown since his stellar Week 2 performance. He’s been inconsistent and unable to bring that dynamic presence he’s known for on offense.

Winning fixes everything but unfortunately, the Jets are riding a three-game losing streak and will once again face a very tough team in the Cardinals.

Fantasy owners should sit Forte this week since things won’t get better for the Jets anytime soon. If anything, owners should grab another running back off waiver wires or consider Bilal Powell as an RB2.

Powell hasn’t been utilized as much as he should be which means since things aren’t working out with Forte, the Jets might shift things around against the Cardinals.

Overall, Forte should be benched this week by owners as he’ll continue to produce very little fantasy production against the Cardinals.
