When it comes to Week 4 of fantasy football, wide receiver Brandon Marshall of the New York Jets serves as a safe sit against the defense of the Seattle Seahawks.

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall of the New York Jets suffered a sprained MCL during their Week 2 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. While it was no surprise whatsoever that Marshall was ruled active for their road bout against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

Needless to say, the veteran receiver had a lackluster performance. Marshall recorded 3 receptions for 27 yards against a ball hogging Chiefs defense that came up with six interceptions. With the 32-year old wideout still nursing his knee back to full health, Marshall serves as a safe sit this week.

With a date with cornerback Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks, serves as an undesirable matchup. According to NFL.com, besides his knee injury, Marshall currently ranks  as the 62nd best receiver in fantasy in regards to points scored throughout the season. While he did see 66 snaps against the Kansas City Chiefs which was a positive outlook for him, Marshall failed to reel in a touchdown.

Looking at the matchup against Seattle, their offense has been rather average thus far ranking anywhere between 13th-28th best in all offensive categories. Their defense, however, ranks 1st-9th best in all categories and seems to be returning to their natural state of the Legion of Boom.

More from The Jet Press

Seattle’s defense currently ranks as the best defense in yards allowed per game with 250.3.

They’re 2nd best in points allowed with 12.3 and passing yards per game with 162.7.

The Seahawks are also 9th best in rushing yards allowed with 87.7.

Marshall won’t be the only Jet having a problem against the Seahawks defense.

If quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has a performance that mirrors the one against the Chiefs, Gang Green will be 1-3.

Seattle’s defense has given up a high of 18 points this season to an opponent. Don’t expect this game to be a high-scoring contest at all.

Marshall has a much better matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers defense the following week which ranks 31st in passing yards allowed per game. But until then, Marshall’s destiny for Week 4 lies on the bench of anyone who owns him in fantasy.
