Heading into Week 3 Fantasy Football action, running back Bilal Powell will have a monster game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

For those fantasy football owners out there that started running back Matt Forte last week, you undoubtedly had a huge smile on your face all week long. The New York Jets always play the hot hand as in Week 2 action against the Buffalo Bills, Forte totaled 100 rushing yards, 30 attempts, and three touchdowns.

Now, Forte’s partner in crime, running back Bilal Powell, hasn’t really seen much action. It’s not a sign of his skill-set or style of play, but more that the Jets tend to put players in a position to succeed on offense. If they’re playing exceptionally well, they will strike while the iron is hot.

Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey loves the rushing attack of the Jets since it’s been effective so far this season. Since Forte got the majority of the workload last week, things will be a bit different in Week 3 as the Jets hit the road to face the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Jets know they can’t overwork Forte so early on in the season. He must be healthy and well, fresh throughout the year to ensure he continues having an impact throughout the year. Expect to see the majority of rushing attempts against the Chiefs primarily be Powell.

More from The Jet Press

Powell is a hybrid kind of running back as fantasy owners should understand he’s lethal either on the ground or as a receiving option.

The Chiefs’ defensive line is solid but their secondary isn’t as consistent as it could be.

Gailey might very well use Powell as an x-factor in this matchup and have him do the majority of his damage through the air and especially in goal-line situations.

Fantasy owners should consider using Powell as their FLEX option this week since he should be able to total at least a touchdown or two against the Chiefs.

Make no mistake about it, this will be the game that Powell absolutely shines in. Forte will still see playing time but expect to see Powell steal the show.

Make sure to start Powell this week to enjoy a plethora of fantasy points, much to the envy of fellow fantasy owners.
