When it comes to the NY Jets on Twitter, hashtag #JetsTwitter is one of the best reasons to keep checking those timelines on game day.
Last Sunday featured an early start time from across the pond for the Jets, but that didn’t deter fans at the game or on Twitter from making their presence known. Over 84,000 fans were in attendance at Wembley Stadium in London for a rivalry game against the Miami Dolphins. This game may have been a turning point in both teams’ seasons, and as usual, #JetsTwitter made noise:
Love hearing the #UKJets doing the J-E-T-S chant in Wembley!

Jets fans were out in force at Wembley. Of course, are you a true Jets fan if you can’t spell your teams’ name? Gang Green fans in the UK were put to the test, and suffice to say, they passed.

So okay, I guess those U.K. Jets fans had some help. You still have to commend them for catching on. Good thing Fireman Ed was back to help them out.
This would be the most embarrassing loss in modern Jets history if they end up choking.
— Bart Hubbuch (@BartHubbuch) October 4, 2015
We should all know by now that there is rarely a game where us Jets fans can breathe easy. As Miami was driving down the field looking like the game was about to have a one score difference in the fourth quarter, journalist Bart Hubbuch was thinking the worst. Luckily, the Jets came up clutch and stood up to the challenge.
This #Jets team gets Sheldon Richardson, Stevan Ridley and Dee Milliner back soon. Let that sink in for a minute.
— Mike Nash (@MikeNash15) October 4, 2015
My colleague here at The Jet Press is feeling pretty good about this Jets team, especially with some key players coming back. Obviously, Richardson will be a huge help to a defensive line that has put in their time in the last few weeks, and we are also in need of someone to give Ivory some breaks while also providing some efficient carries. It also can’t hurt to have a former top-10 pick added to an already stout secondary. If Milliner can reach his potential, the Jets will have an explosive set of defensive backs.
Gilchrist steps up with great coverage. That’s something the #Jets didn’t get often from a S last year. MG has been great for NYJ this year

You can’t underestimate the power of a formidable secondary. It’s been a staple of good Jets teams in recent years, from the Kerry Rhodes era to Jim Leonhard, to now. It allows the front seven to get a little more creative, thus making life miserable for opposing QBs. If Ryan Tannehill can’t handle getting picked off by guys on the Dolphins’ practice squad, then he must have not been too pleased with the plays made against him by the Jets’ secondary.
Who made this? #Jets pic.twitter.com/OGmWWaDDMl

Quinton Coples, Damon Harrison, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson, members of the Jets’ front 7, are some of the big names on defense. They will become Beatles-like if the Jets make it big this year. Maybe they’ll be able to create a version of this iconic shot using the Jersey Turnpike or Route 3 as the backdrop?
How great of a pickup was Dion Bailey? Wow. #Jets
— Alan Hahn (@alanhahn) October 4, 2015
Speaking of the Jets’ secondary, the team made a great move when they picked up the Seahawks’ substitute for Kam Chancellor as support for Marcus Gilchrist. This is the mark of a quality general manager, as the Jets have sought to make improvements in areas where they already appear solid. It never hurts to build on an existing strength.
Jets needed to start fast today and I would say that's EXACTLY what they did
— Ray Lucas (@RayLucas06) October 4, 2015
Gang Green jumped off to a fast start, leading 13-0 at one point and 27-7 at another. SNY analyst Ray Lucas made note of it, and if Ray is fired up, you know the Jets must be doing something right.
Jets RB Chris Ivory has more total yards than entire Dolphins offense right now: • Ivory: 131 • Dolphins: 104
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) October 4, 2015
This is how dominant the Jets were at one point. As you may recall from last year, despite losing the game, the Jets exclusively featured the running game against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football, and had some success doing so. This year the Jets’ top back ran for a career-high 166 yards. Ivory is 3rd in the league in rushing yards despite playing in only 3 games.
The #Jets are 3-1. Just like we all expected.
— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) October 4, 2015
The bottom line is, we’re 3-1. While the loss against the Philadephia Eagles could have been avoided, being 3-1 going into a bye isn’t a bad thing at all. With the inconsistent Washington Redskins next up on the schedule, the Jets have to be firing on all cylinders and need to learn to put away the teams they should beat.
This could set up another marquee matchup between the 4-1 Jets and the potentially undefeated New England Patriots in a game that could have huge implications in the AFC East.
Tune in next week for a special bye week edition of #JetsTwitter, covering news and notes from the world of 140 characters!
