EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Nick Mangold of New York Jets
What does Nick Mangold of the New York Jets think about how things have gone so far this offseason for the team? Before we get to that, we here at The Jet Press would like to thank Lauren Draper-Wood of TheLandryHat.com for being able to get an interview with Mangold for us at the NFL International Media Day in England. Check out her official author page as we are major fans of her work on the Dallas Cowboys.
We’d also like to thank Mangold for answering our questions at the event as Jets Nation surely is excited for what the Jets plan to unleash this upcoming season. With a terrific off season filled with top talent acquired in both the free agency period and at the 2015 NFL Draft, optimism is high for the Jets to deliver a rebound season in 2015.

Here are the questions we asked Mangold:
How is the new offensive system shaping up so far this offseason?
It’s coming along. We were able to get it all installed and get things working. So hopefully we’re able to continue that through training camp.
Has it been an easy transition for you with your veteran experience?
I like to believe I pick it up quicker! You kinda have to as a veteran. You’ve got the younger guys who look up to you and they’re asking you questions. If you keep hitting them with “I don’t know, I don’t know” you’re going to look pretty foolish yourself. It forces you into picking it up a little quicker.

Do you have any off season traditions or routines you do to prepare for training camps?
Not so much. We used to travel a little bit more, but we’ve got two little ones now. So it’s usually just spending time with them having as much daddy time as I can.
What do you think of the direction so far this off season for the New York Jets?
It’s going well. We’re getting a good feel of what we want to do. It’s going to depend on the work we put in through camp and into the season.
