The Jet Press Podcast: Official 2026 Jets roster draft, who built the best team?

In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano put together their official 2026 New York Jets roster draft. Each of us took turns drafting 10 players from the Jets roster to build the best possible lineup. Who won? You let us know!

The majority of the show was dedicated to this year's Jets roster draft, yet the 2026 edition felt a bit different than the one we did a year ago. This Jets roster is deeper and far more talented, at least on paper, than the version we drafted from last summer.

Instead of debating players like Justin Fields or *shutters* Andre Cisco, we spent most of the draft arguing over legitimate building blocks, established veterans, and exciting young talent.

Garrett Wilson came off the board first overall, while players like Armand Membou, Joe Tippmann, David Bailey, Omar Cooper Jr., Kenyon Sadiq, T'Vondre Sweat, and D'Angelo Ponds all heard their names called.

There were also a few surprises. Geno Smith lasted all the way until the final pick of the draft despite being the Jets' starting quarterback, while veterans such as Demario Davis and David Onyemata generated plenty of debate throughout the process.

Of course, not everybody made the cut. Several notable Jets were left undrafted entirely, which raises the question...who got snubbed? Did one of us reach for a player too early? Was Geno Smith underrated or overrated? Did one host clearly assemble the superior roster? We'll let the listeners decide on that one.

The roster draft wasn't the only feature on this week's show. Longtime listener and friend of the show Brian Sternback put together a 38-question Jets history trivia challenge for Justin and Mike to attempt.

The quiz tested just how much Jets knowledge we actually possess and was genuinely super fun to do. You can play along at home and see whether you would have fared any better!
