In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss D.J. Reed's latest comments, NY Jets who won't be back in 2025, a potential J.J. McCarthy trade, and the head coach candidacies of Rex Ryan, Ron Rivera, and Jon Gruden.

The show started with a discussion about D.J. Reed's latest comments about his Jets future. Reed was blunt with his remarks, insisting he's done with the Jets and that he's "ready for free agency." His comments certainly won't go over well with fans and they're indicative of a larger issue within the Jets organization.

Reed is one of a large number of Jets players who are not expected to be back with the team in 2025. The Jets are widely expected to undergo a significant roster overhaul in the offseason, and Reed is just one of the players who will likely depart in free agency.

From Tyler Conklin to C.J. Mosley to the obvious Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, Justin and Mike discuss a host of Jets players who will not return next season.

The conversation then shifted to a discussion around Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy. With Sam Darnold continuing to impress, there's a very real chance the Vikings opt to keep the ex-Jets QB this offseason.

McCarthy's name has popped up in trade rumors, and many believe the Jets could be a team that inquires about his availability. How realistic is McCarthy as a 2025 QB option for the Jets? Is he even someone the Jets should pursue?

Finally, Justin and Mike broke down the head coach candidacies of Rex Ryan, Ron Rivera, and even Jon Gruden. Should the Jets consider any of these former NFL coaches? Are any of them actually legitimate candidates? We gave our takes.
