In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss how to fix the New York Jets. Justin and Mike each put together full mock offseasons, complete with free-agency predictions and mock drafts. We also briefly discussed Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.

The show started with a general conversation about the aforementioned Simpson, who officially declared for the draft on Wednesday. Should Simpson be a legitimate target for the Jets in this year's draft?

Justin and Mike discussed where they stand on Simpson, what his draft stock is, and if the Jets could target Simpson at any point in the first round, or even on Day 2 if he makes it that far. This was a good conversation.

The rest of the show was dedicated to Justin and Mike's dueling mock offseasons, featuring free-agency predictions and mock drafts. Mike's mock had the Jets drafting Dante Moore, while Justin's had them trading for Kyler Murray, under the assumption that Moore doesn't declare.

We won't go through the complete mock offseasons in here — you can watch the full video for that — but we will go over some major additions. For example, Justin's projection actually had the Jets trading down in the first round to select Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain at No. 6 overall.

While Justin had the Jets franchise-tagging Breece Hall, Mike had the team letting Hall go in a tag-and-trade, replacing him with Jacksonville Jaguars standout Travis Etienne.

Both hosts revamped the wide receiver room, with Justin drafting Germie Bernard and Mike adding Chris Brazzell and Dyami Brown. As for the offensive line, Justin and Mike had an interesting conversation about Alijah Vera-Tucker's future. There was some disagreement.

Justin brought back Vera-Tucker and even drafted Iowa's Gennings Dunker in the second round, while Mike went a different direction with a veteran stopgap in free agency.

The position group that changed the most was undoubtedly the defensive line. Both Justin and Mike made sweeping changes to the defensive line, with Justin double-dipping in the first round and Mike signing multiple free agents.
