In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss Dante Moore's decision not to enter the 2026 NFL Draft, the New York Jets' massive quarterback dilemma, and the team's ongoing search for a new defensive coordinator.

Dante Moore has made his decision. The Oregon quarterback announced just minutes before we went live that he plans to return to Eugene for another season and forgo entering the 2026 NFL Draft. Obviously, this is a major blow to a Jets team that holds the No. 2 overall pick.

Moore was the odds-on favorite to be selected by the Jets with that No. 2 overall pick. Now, the Jets must go in a different direction, both at quarterback and with their top draft selection.

Justin and Mike spent much of the show discussing the Moore situation, fielding questions from viewers eager for clarity on the team’s plans. Some were clearly frustrated, while others admitted they had all but lost hope.

Kyler Murray continues to feel like the most likely quarterback solution for the Jets at this stage. Murray may not be an exciting or inspiring option, but Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey know that they need to win games in 2026 to save their jobs.

Is there a better option on the market or in the draft if the Jets are prioritizing winning games this season? There probably isn't, unless you're very high on someone like Mac Jones.

The Jets could also still target a quarterback in this year's draft, with names like Ty Simpson, Garrett Nussmeier, Trinidad Chambliss, and Carson Beck still in the conversation. Which of the non-Fernando Mendoza quarterback options in this class are the most intriguing?

Justin and Mike had in-depth conversations about essentially all of these quarterback options, and discussed the idea of pairing any of them with Murray or another veteran.

What else could the Jets do with the No. 2 overall pick? They could opt to trade down, but if they stay put, which players make the most sense? We discussed the likes of Arvell Reese, Rueben Bain, Caleb Downs, and others.

Finally, Justin and Mike spent the final portion of the show talking about the Jets' vacant defensive coordinator position. What do we think about Daronte Jones, the only known candidate to this point? What should we make of Wink Martindale? Any other options?
