In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss Aaron Rodgers' future with the team, the Sauce Gardner drama, Matt Nagy coaching rumors, and the NY Jets' upcoming Week 11 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The show started with a discussion about the latest coaching rumors with the Jets. Brian Costello of the New York Post recently predicted that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy would be the team's head coach choice in 2025.
Nagy has spent 12 of his 16 years in the NFL working under Andy Reid, save for a failed four-year stint as the Chicago Bears' head coach in which his offenses ranked higher than 22nd just once.
The longtime Chiefs assistant is already drawing comparisons to Adam Gase among many Jets fans, and Justin and Mike definitely aren't encouraged by the idea. We discussed the rumor in great detail.
The conversation then shifted to Sauce Gardner and his recent social media drama. Gardner's antics combined with his recent dip in performance haven't gone over well with much of the fan base. How much of an issue is this for the Jets moving forward?
The Gang Green Stat Machine made another appearance this week, as Justin and Mike analyzed the Jets' defense post-Robert Saleh and broke down impressive performances from the likes of Olu Fashanu and John Simpson.
The Jets' defense has completely bottomed out since Saleh was fired while the offensive line seems to have a few foundational pieces entering the 2025 offseason.
Aaron Rodgers' future has been a hot topic amongst Jets fans in recent days, and his comments combined with recent reports suggest the four-time MVP will be the Jets' quarterback in 2025.
Justin and Mike discuss the likelihood that Rodgers will be back next season and break down both the most likely and best realistic quarterback options for the Jets in the offseason.
Finally, we discussed the Jets' upcoming Week 11 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. It will be Anthony Richardson at quarterback for the Colts as both Justin and Mike predict a hollow Jets victory.
