As the New York Jets try to turn things around with Aaron Glenn at the helm, the Tennessee Titans are finding out why things didn't work out with Robert Saleh in charge.

The Titans, along with the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins, are one of three winless teams after five weeks, with their 26-3 loss against a previously 0-4 Houston Texans team serving as the nadir of Saleh's attempted rebirth in Nashville.

Saleh has tried to calm down a furious Nashville media by saying he is not looking to make any major changes, as he is only five games into "Year 1" of his tenure. Saleh is talking like someone who expects Year 2 to be coming at some point, but his performance has been so bad that such grace may not be guaranteed.

Once again, Saleh is struggling to develop a young quarterback picked high in the NFL Draft in last year's No. 1 overall choice, Cam Ward. In five games, Ward has thrown just three touchdown passes while leading an offense that has mustered just 11.6 points per game. Even in a year where few expected a division title, these numbers are very disappointing.

Saleh conducted a grand experiment this season. He added a half-dozen of his former Jets, including John Franklin-Myers and Jermaine Johnson, while letting offensive coordinator Brian Daboll reunite with a handful of his old New York players. Would all of these players, who struggled once before in New York, thrive in a smaller market? So far, no.

There has been a bit of animosity bubbling between Titans and Jets fans, especially prior to New York's Week 1 win. It seems as though Titans fans and the Tennessee organization bought into the idea that Saleh's issues in New York were caused by forces well out of his control. The stability and less bright spotlight Tennessee provides would get him on the right track.

However, as many Jets fans warned, Saleh has issues that make him more of a coordinator than a head coach, and all of their concerns have come home to roost in the Titans' deplorable start.

Between an overreliance on a handful of the same players and coaches in order to fit his rigid scheme, an inability to get the passing game kick-started, and a tough guy persona that falls apart and looks corny at the first sign of adversity, Saleh's poor start with the Titans is a mirror image of his worst Jets lowlights.

The Jets are by no means a particularly good team, and Glenn is far from an amazing coach right now, but he has shown that despite all of the factors working against him, he has a superior team compared to Saleh. There's still time for Saleh to turn it around, but he may not get almost four years to do so like he was afforded with the Jets.
