In a year where Aaron Rodgers was expected to help the NY Jets break their playoff curse and compete for championships, Gang Green finds themselves at 2-5. The Jets have lost four straight games and would hold the No. 5 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft if the season ended today.

Rodgers and the Jets, who led 15-6 just minutes before halftime against the Pittsburgh Steelers, ended up losing 37-15. Rodgers, who threw two interceptions (one was not his fault), has the Jets looking at young quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft during the year that was supposed to break the curse.

Fans of this team during the Rex Ryan era would rightfully be pulling their hair out, as Ryan never had his teams pull off such a lackluster effort emotionally in addition to their play on the field. Sensing the Jets are seemingly mailing it in, Ryan unloaded.

In an appearance on "Get Up!", Ryan ripped Rodgers for not having any pride in the Jet uniform. While he did also take a shot at the culture, that is another indirect attack on Rodgers due to how much of the culture is tied up in him.

Rex Ryan lights up Aaron Rodgers after lackluster NY Jets start

Rodgers has thrown seven interceptions this season, which puts him at second-worst in the NFL behind Jordan Love, Patrick Mahomes, and Gardner Minshew. Rodgers went multiple seasons in a row in Green Bay without throwing seven interceptions, and he's already hit that number during his time with the Jets.

Where Ryan is dead on, however, is the fact that the Jets look lifeless. When any adversity hits, this team folds and it immediately gets worse. Some may call that a reflection of the team's leadership and a lack of attention to detail, which can happen when you sell your soul for Aaron Rodgers and fire your coach mid-season.

Rodgers, to his credit, has often absorbed much of the blame for this team's struggles. Rodgers looks like someone who is clearly frustrated with his current situation and doesn't have the ability to counterpunch. The result is a lifeless affair that gets worse with each passing loss in another lost season.

Rex was the best coach the Jets have hired in the Woody Johnson era, and his passion for the team is still evident. Watching Rodgers and the rest of this team sleepwalk through the rest of the season, which was supposed to be the year they fixed it all, has to get him hot.
