The NY Jets have released their injury report ahead of their Week 11 matchup with the Miami Dolphins. And two notable rookies — Zach Wilson and Alijah Vera-Tucker — were among the three players who received injury designations.
Wilson was officially listed as doubtful with a knee injury while Vera-Tucker is questionable with a toe injury. Meanwhile, defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd is also listed as questionable with a knee injury.
As for the Dolphins, only two players received injury designations. Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel is questionable with a back injury while defensive tackle Christian Wilkins has a quad injury and is questionable.
Both teams are relatively healthy heading into this Week 11 divisional matchup.
The NY Jets expect Alijah Vera-Tucker to play on Sunday
Wilson is obviously the most notable name on the final injury report, although his listing is more a formality than anything else. The rookie quarterback is not expected to play this week.
Instead, the Jets will hand the reins of the offense over to Joe Flacco while Mike White will serve as the backup.
The hope is for Wilson to return in time for next week's game against the Houston Texans and the Jets will evaluate his status over the course of the week.
The good news is that Wilson was a limited participant in practice all week which would indicate that he should play in Week 12.
Vera-Tucker popped up on the injury report this week and was a limited participant over the last few days. The Jets expect him to play, but if he suffers some type of setback, they would be forced to turn to either Dan Feeney or the recently-acquired Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.
Shepherd was a surprise addition to the injury report and will be a game-time decision, although seeing as he was a limited participant all week, the safe bet is to assume he plays.
Both Dolphins players who are listed as questionable are expected to play as well. The Jets will take on the Dolphins on Sunday starting at 1:00 pm ET.
