It's official. After months of speculation, the NY Jets have officially been announced as this summer's "Hard Knocks" team. The Jets will be returning to the hit HBO show for the first time in over a decade.
While the news of the Jets appearing on "Hard Knocks" was first reported last week, the NFL officially made the announcement on Monday. It will be happening.
The Jets were vocal in their opposition to appearing on the show this summer. Jets head coach Robert Saleh specifically indicated that the team did not want the "Hard Knocks" assignment, and players have suggested the same thing.
Despite this, the NFL will be forcing the Jets to appear on the show. Perhaps the team's reluctance is why this is the latest announcement of a "Hard Knocks" team made in the show's 20+ years of existence.
