In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discussed how the Jets are the new betting favorites to sign Derek Carr and identified some potential free-agent targets with connections to Carr and Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets have emerged as the betting favorites for Carr following a very successful visit last week. Both sides erased any concerns they had about a potential fit, and the Jets are now the odds-on favorites to sign Carr.

Of course, much of that depends on the status of Aaron Rodgers as well. Both Carr and Rodgers remain very much in the discussion to be the Jets' starting quarterback in 2023.

That's why Justin and Mike did their best to break down some possible free-agent targets who have connections to Carr and Rodgers. From former wide receiver targets to failed former first-round picks, Justin and Mike each identified a player from the Raiders and Packers.

This week's episode also briefly touches on the Denver Broncos' interest in former Jets head coach Rex Ryan before they ultimately hired Vance Joseph to be their new defensive coordinator.

Finally, Justin and Mike discussed some potential mid-round quarterback targets for the Jets in the 2023 NFL Draft. In particular, they focused on Stanford's Tanner McKee and Tennessee's Hendon Hooker.

This led into their weekly draft spotlight to close the show. Justin analyzed South Carolina defensive tackle Zacch Pickens while Mike focused on Notre Dame safety Brandon Joseph.
