In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss the latest on the NY Jets-Davante Adams trade rumors, what's going on with Malachi Corley, and the upcoming Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The first half of the show was dedicated to a discussion about the latest on the Davante Adams trade rumors. Adams has reportedly made the Jets one of his preferred landing spots after officially requesting a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders this week.
The Jets are seen as the odds-on favorites to land Adams, with many around the NFL operating under the assumption that the All-Pro wide receiver will end up in Florham Park.
Justin and Mike discuss the likelihood of an Adams trade, of the Jets should be seen as the favorites, when a trade might happen, what it might cost, and whether it even makes sense for the organization. Also...is there any way the Jets could work Haason Reddick into this?
The next topic saw the return of the Gang Green Stat Machine, where Justin and Mike took a look back at last week's 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos and discussed a few notable statistics from the matchup.
Some of the discussion points include Xavier Gipson's struggles and Malachi Corley's inability to find playing time, Braelon Allen's numbers compared to Breece Hall's, Olu Fashanu's rough NFL debut, and the Jets' struggling defensive line.
Finally, Justin and Mike broke down the Jets' upcoming London matchup with Sam Darnold and the Vikings in Week 5. The Jets will be underdogs in this all-important cross-ocean clash, but do they have a realistic path to victory?
What adjustments will the Jets need to make on the offensive side of the ball? How can the defense contain Darnold, Aaron Jones, Justin Jefferson, and a potent Vikings offense? Do we trust Robert Saleh and the Jets' coaching staff moving forward? All of that was discussed.
