In our most recent episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discussed the latest with Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson, while also providing their weekly draft spotlight on two intriguing offensive prospects.

Justin and Mike discussed the fall-out from Derek Carr's decision to sign with the New Orleans Saints earlier in the week. Carr's decision leaves the Jets with only one feasible and appealing option at the quarterback position.

The Jets met with Rodgers this week and seem to be on the verge of trading for him, but nothing is confirmed until the future Hall of Fame quarterback makes his decision.

But what happens if the Jets miss on Rodgers? What happens if he decides to retire or, less likely, return to Green Bay? That's exactly what Justin and Mike discussed.

From mid-tier options like Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Tannehill to a potential pipedream for Lamar Jackson, every potential option is discussed. What about Jackson, by the way?

Justin and Mike try to make sense of the Lamar Jackson situation, analyzing whether or not there is a spoken or unspoken agreement between NFL owners not to pay him. The possibility of collusion is discussed.

Would the Jets actually pursue Jackson if they miss on Rodgers? How likely is it? Those are the questions Justin and Mike set out to answer.

Finally, in our weekly draft spotlight, Justin took a closer look at Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones while Mike provided an analysis of Iowa State wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson. Both could be targets for the Jets in the 2023 NFL Draft.
