Fresh off a frustrating loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4, the NYJets are looking to turn the page as they prepare for their matchup with the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in London. Despite the adversity, Robert Saleh remains optimistic, urging fans across the pond to support his team.

In typical Saleh fashion, he pitched the Jets as a fun and energetic team and encouraged Londoners to hop on the bandwagon before it's too late. The Jets may be the underdogs on Sunday, but that only adds to the allure for fans in search of an upset.

Most fans likely expected the Jets to be favored in their London matchup with Minnesota going into the season, but Sam Darnold and the Vikings have looked like the best team in the NFL through four weeks.

The Jets, while there have been signs of progress, fell back into familiar territory with an embarrassing 10-9 loss to the Broncos this past Sunday. They're desperately in need of a bounceback in Week 5, and Saleh believes now's the time to buy stock in the team.

Why London fans should root for the NY Jets in Week 5

The Jets were widely seen as potential Super Bowl contenders entering the 2024 season. The return of Aaron Rodgers coupled with reinforcements on both sides of the ball breathed a sense of optimism into an organization that has inhabited the NFL's basement for the last decade-plus.

At 2-2, the Jets are firmly in the middle of the pack in a somewhat disappointing AFC through the first quarter of the season. Their thrilling 24-3 beatdown of the New England Patriots on primetime looked to be a wake-up call to the rest of the league, but then the Broncos game happened.

The optimism surrounding the franchise has dwindled following that dreadful loss to Denver, but the Jets have an opportunity to change the narrative again this Sunday with a win over their former quarterback and arguably the best team in the NFL.

In that respect, Saleh is right. The Jets bandwagon might start to fill up again if they manage to defeat the Vikings in London, especially if the team trades for Davante Adams in the near future.

An Adams trade almost feels inevitable for the Jets, and while he won't be joining the team before this Sunday's game, he could be on his way to Florham Park as soon as next week. That could change the complexion of the Jets' offense.

Of course, Adams wouldn't solve everything. The Jets' defensive line remains a mess, the offensive line struggled in Week 4, and the team's coaching staff leaves a lot to be desired. But that's why you buy the dip. You jump on the bandwagon before it leaves the station.

Robert Saleh is urging London fans to root for this down-on-their-luck underdog before they find their footing and ascend to the top of the NFL. Is he right? There's only one way to find out.
