Former NY Jets head coach Rex Ryan has never been one to keep his opinions to himself. The ex-coach-turned-analyst has always had a soft spot for the Jets, and that doesn't seem to have changed.

Ryan recently spoke to longtime NFL reporter Gary Myers, and when asked about the Jets, he offered up a bold prediction that should leave fans of his former team excited about the upcoming season.

Ryan told Myers that he believes this is the year the Jets will finally win the Super Bowl. He cited the return of Aaron Rodgers and a "loaded" roster as reasons why the Jets will not only break their 13-year playoff drought but go all the way.

Myers also asked Ryan about the other teams in the AFC East, including Ryan's former team the Buffalo Bills, and the ex-NFL head coach didn't seem to be a believer.

Ryan told Myers that the Bills are "not even close to what they've been." As for the Miami Dolphins, Ryan simply said he " think they're going to be that good. But it was his response about the New England Patriots that stands out the most.

"New England sucks," Ryan bluntly told Myers. Enough said.

Rex Ryan believes the NY Jets will win the Super Bowl this season

Ryan makes a few valid points here, even if he said everything in his usual Rex Ryan way. The Bills lost quite a few significant pieces in the offseason including the likes of Stefon Diggs, Tre'Davious White, Jordan Poyer, and Micah Hyde.

This is a new-look Bills squad with genuine question marks surrounding their receiving corps and defense, especially following Matt Milano's injury. Josh Allen has his work cut out for him this season.

The Dolphins have proven that they can win regular-season games, but a troubling trend has developed with the team falling short once the winter months arrive. Ryan is understandably taking a wait-and-see approach with Mike McDaniel's team.

As far as the Patriots are concerned, Ryan isn't wrong. The Jacoby Brissett-led Patriots figure to be competing more for a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft as opposed to the AFC East crown.

That leaves the Jets, who, on paper, probably have the most talented and complete roster in the division. There are obvious health concerns with the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Mike Williams, and the offensive line, but there's no denying the ceiling of this Jets team could be the Super Bowl.

Rex Ryan is a believer in that ceiling. Sure, he may not be the most objective analyst when it comes to the Jets, but he might be on to something here. Jets fans are certainly hoping their favorite team is able to manifest Ryan's belief.
