The NY Jets are less than a month away from the start of free agency, which means the team only has a few weeks to make a decision on a number of their own internal free agents.

While the Jets are expected to be semi-active in free agency this year, the team needs to make sure they take care of their own players as well. There will be players the Jets are interested in bringing back.

Some of the Jets' decisions this offseason will be easy, both as it pertains to obvious re-sign candidates and obvious players to let go. But not every decision is easy.

Let's take a look at which of the Jets' 22 unrestricted free agents the team should bring back in 2024. Note that this only includes unrestricted free agents — restricted and exclusive-rights free agents are not included.

Mekhi Becton, OT, NY Jets

One of the Jets' most notable free agents is also expected to be one of their easier decisions. It's hard to envision a scenario in which Mekhi Becton is back with the team in 2024.

Becton's injury history, combined with his lackluster on-field performance, makes it highly likely the Jets will go in a different direction. The former first-round pick will look to find a home with a new team, likely on some sort of prove-it deal.

Prediction: Not re-signed

Duane Brown, OT, NY Jets

The Jets went into the 2023 season with Becton and Duane Brown as their penciled-in starting tackles. The team will be looking for two new starters this offseason.

Brown returned from offseason shoulder surgery to play just two games before landing on the injured reserve. There's a good chance the 38-year-old Brown opts to retire in the offseason.

Prediction: Not re-signed
