The NY Jets have begun to meet with many of the top 2022 NFL Draft prospects at this year's NFL Combine. One such player who is confirmed to have met with the team is Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks.

Burks is widely viewed as one of the best wide receivers in this year's draft class and a potential target for the Jets in Round 1. The 21-year-old spoke to the media at the NFL Combine on Wednesday and revealed a list of teams he had met with.

The Jets were on that list, but they weren't just any team on that list. Burks specifically noted that his interview with the Jets went "really well" before replying to reporters that he could "100%" handle playing in a big market.

Burks meeting with the Jets shouldn't come as a surprise, but the fact that he made sure to single out his interview with Joe Douglas and company is at least somewhat notable.

And for those hoping the Jets land Burks in this year's NFL Draft, this has to be considered an encouraging sign.

There's some smoke as it pertains to a NY Jets/Treylon Burks pairing

The Jets are expected to be heavily involved in the wide receiver market this offseason as they search for additional weapons to surround young quarterback Zach Wilson with.

The Jets signed Corey Davis and added Elijah Moore in the 2021 NFL Draft last offseason bolstering a wide receiver corps that was incredibly thin. Even still, it's clear that there's still some work to be done.

Davis underperformed in his first season with the Jets, and although Moore showed promise, the Jets are preparing to lose Jamison Crowder and perhaps even Braxton Berrios in free agency.

Burks could be a player the Jets target, perhaps as early as the No. 10 overall pick. The Arkansas native emerged as one of the best wide receivers in college football following a standout junior season that saw him finish with 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Burks has drawn comparisons to San Francisco 49ers standout Deebo Samuel given his versatility and ability to make plays after the catch. At 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, Burks runs like a bowling ball with the ball in his hands and was a high-volume target at Arkansas.

It's easy to see Burks fitting in with the Jets offense and serving as a key contributor in the team's passing game. Evidently, the Jets are doing their due diligence.

Keep an eye on Treylon Burks as a target for the Jets next month.
