NY Jets vs. Seahawks Week 17 Final Injury Report: Lamarcus Joyner to return

The NY Jets have released their final injury report ahead of their Week 17 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks and five players have been given an injury designation.

Cornerback Brandin Echols (quad) and wide receiver Jeff Smith (knee) have both been declared out after missing practice all week. Echols has missed the last two games while Smith was absent last Thursday after hauling in four catches for 77 yards in Week 15.

Expect Bryce Hall to once again be active in Echols' place while the returning Denzel Mims will help make up for Smith's absence. Mims missed last week's game with a concussion but returned to practice this week and does not have an injury designation.

Safety Lamarcus Joyner is listed as questionable with a hip injury but is expected to play after he was a full participant in Friday's practice. Veteran Will Parks has been starting in his place over the last two weeks.

The Jets added two players to the injury report on Friday as both offensive guard Nate Herbig (ankle) and defensive end Vinny Curry (elbow) are now listed as questionable after seemingly injuring themselves during Friday's practice.

Herbig has been dealing with what's been described as a shin injury for well over a month now and it's unclear if his latest ankle injury is related. Either way, the shin injury is one that is expected to bother him for the remainder of the season, perhaps evident in his recent subpar performances.

If Herbig is unable to play, expect either Laurent Duvernay-Tardif or Dan Feeney to receive the start at right guard.

As for Curry, his elbow injury is most certainly a new one and it could keep him sidelined on Sunday. The Jets have the defensive line depth to cover for his absence if he is left inactive this weekend.
