Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins has made it abundantly clear that he is not particularly fond of the NY Jets. In fact, he hates the Jets. He said those exact words in an interview a few months ago.

From his on-field skirmishes with Jets players, most notably defensive lineman Micheal Clemons, to his various off-field comments, Dawkins hasn't been shy about his hatred for his team's division rival.

But Dawkins' latest comments regarding the Jets have now reached delusional territory. The three-time Pro Bowler joined Kay Adams on the Up & Adams Show on Friday, and when asked about why he hates the Jets, he offered a boastful response.

Dawkins compared his quarterback, Josh Allen, to NBA legend Michael Jordan, insisting that it's his job to protect Allen from "no name" players talking smack. That's right, he called Allen his "Michael Jordan."

Dion Dawkins continues to make enemies with the NY Jets

On one hand, Dawkins' comments do make some degree of sense. The job of any offensive lineman is to protect their quarterback before, during, and after the play. Dawkins is assuming his role of bodyguard — both on and off the field.

On the other hand, comparing Allen to a legend like Michael Jordan is bound to draw the ire and ridicule from NFL fans. Just one look at the replies to that tweet tells you all you need to know. People are rolling their eyes at what Dawkins said.

This is also another instance of Dawkins continuing to poke the bear for no good reason. It's safe to say that his comments might not go over well with those in the Jets' locker room.

Dawkins previously called on the Jets in February, insisting that his rivals are a bunch of players who "play the sport to try to be cool." He suggested that they "like to take pictures on Instagram" instead of playing football.

Of course, this is despite Dawkins continuously running his mouth about the Jets on social media and in various interviews. The Jets, to their credit, have remained relatively quiet in comparison.

The Jets are focused on breaking their 13-year playoff drought and making a run at the Super Bowl in 2024. They might have to go through Dawkins and the Bills to accomplish that goal.

We likely haven't heard the last of this growing rivalry between two bitter division rivals. The next chapter may very well come when the Jets meet the Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 6. Stay tuned.
