The NY Jets are rarely a fountain of positivity, especially after Aaron Rodgers was intercepted three times in a narrow loss against the Minnesota Vikings. However, fans may have received a serious shot in the arm, as Monday against the Buffalo Bills doesn't seem as hopeless as it originally did.

While the Bills looked like a murder machine on pace to take hold of the AFC crown after the first three games of the season, a blowout at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens and a recent loss against CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans have Buffalo sitting at a less-than scary 3-2 record after five games.

The Bills had a perfect opportunity to send their game to overtime by running out the clock, but poor clock management from Sean McDermott with a clearly injured Josh Allen at quarterback gave the Texans new life. Three incompletions set up a Texans drive that ended in a Ka'imi Fairbairn game-winning field goal.

McDermott has been white-hot to start 2024, but these baffling decisions have given the Jets some new life in their pursuit of a playoff spot. The winner of Buffalo-New York on Monday Night will end up in first place in the division with six games in the season burned.

The Bills not only have a history of losing to Zach Wilson-led Jets teams, but Allen himself has played some of his worst football against Robert Saleh and his elite secondary. Even off a hypothetical win, Buffalo knows better than to underestimate the Jets.

The Miami Dolphins may be 2-3, but they have lost some horrendous games and only managed to win in Week 5 due to a laughable performance from the New England Patriots. Jerod Mayo's squad in Foxborough will once again be competing for the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Unless Tua Tagovailoa starts ripping it up when he returns, it seems like one of either Buffalo or New York is going to win this division. The Jets have beaten them in the past, and now they have Aaron Rodgers, but the vibes in New York are wretched after two straight losses.

The Jets are wounded right now, but Rodgers has bounced back from worse. With Davante Adams trade rumors swirling, the Jets could attack this team with renewed vigor after the Bills humiliated themselves in the game beforehand.
