The NY Jets have been fortunate to not suffer any major injuries to notable players so far this summer, and they should be nearing the return of one of their own in the coming days.

Wide receiver Mike Williams, who has been sidelined rehabbing a torn ACL for most of the summer, provided an update on his status when speaking to reporters on Monday.

Williams told reporters that he expects to return to team drills sometime next week following this Saturday's preseason finale. He's been practicing in individual drills since being activated from the active/PUP list earlier this month.

Now, Williams is on the verge of fully returning to practice. This is the last hurdle he needs to clear to be ready for Week 1. It sounds like the Jets fully anticipate him to be on the field come the start of the regular season.

Mekhi Becton injured in practice

Mekhi Becton's once-promising Jets career was tragically derailed by injuries over the last few years. Now in Philadelphia, Becton is hoping to avoid the same injury issues that plagued his time in Florham Park.

The former first-round pick exited Sunday's practice early with a leg injury and was seen limping off the field with trainers. Becton infamously battled through multiple knee injuries with the Jets, so this was understandably a scary sight for Eagles fans to see.

Thankfully, NFL insider Jordan Schultz confirmed on Monday that the injury is not considered serious. Becton is expected to begin the season as the starting right guard for the Eagles after beating out Tyler Steen for the job this summer.

Becton will be playing a new position as he looks to revitalize his NFL career. Here's to hoping he's able to stay off the injury report as well.

Will McDonald dominates Monday's practice

The Jets' offense struggled through what was easily their worst practice of the summer on Monday. Aaron Rodgers completed just 11-of-27 passes as the offense sputtered through miscommunications, drops, and inaccuracies.

But while the Jets' offense had a nightmarish day, the opposite was true for the team's defense. The biggest beneficiary of the Jets' offensive struggles was Will McDonald.

McDonald wreaked havoc against the Jets' offensive line on Monday, recording two would-be sacks of Aaron Rodgers. The coaches let the plays continue, but those in attendance all agreed they were obvious sacks in a real-game situation.

McDonald has begun to stack positive practices in recent weeks and flashed his pass-rush potential in this past Saturday's preseason win over the Carolina Panthers. This is the development the Jets wanted to see from their 2023 first-round pick this summer.
