There were some questions about who the NY Jets would start at quarterback in Week 18 following the team's disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks this past weekend. On Wednesday, those questions were put to bed.
Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that Mike White would once again start in Week 18 while Joe Flacco will serve as his backup. Zach Wilson is slated to be a healthy inactive again for the final game of the season.
The Jets didn't hold an official practice on Wednesday, but White was listed as a full participant for the team's walkthrough. He's still dealing with rib soreness, but the Jets feel comfortable with him starting again this week.
There was a growing sentiment amongst some Jets fans to have Wilson start Week 18. After all, the Jets are already eliminated from playoff contention and White likely isn't a part of the future quarterback solution.
The Jets just don't believe Wilson is ready to be thrown into the fire again. As such, it'll be the Mike White show one more time.

Sheldon Rankins receives award from Jets beat reporters
Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins received a unique and prestigious honor on Wednesday as he was awarded the Jets' "Media Good Guy" award — an honor given every year by the Jets media.
SNY's Connor Hughes explained the decision to elect Rankins in a tweet that read, "Rankins wasn’t just always available, but one of the most insightful players in the locker room. Love talking to him about football. Great quote, but a better dude."
Recent winners of the award include linebacker C.J. Mosley, former quarterback Sam Darnold, former linebacker Jordan Jenkins, and former wide receiver Jermaine Kearse.
Rankins has appeared in 14 games for the Jets in 2022, racking up 42 tackles, three sacks, and seven QB hits. He's set to be a free agent at the end of the season.
