NY Jets news: Lamar Jackson trade odds rising, Jets rookie finalists
By Justin Fried
Don't look now, but the NY Jets are the new betting favorites to trade for Lamar Jackson this offseason. In fact, the oddsmakers believe that Jackson has a better chance of being on the Jets' roster come Week 1 of 2023 than the Ravens' roster.
The Jets currently have +250 odds to trade for Jackson this offseason with an implied probability of 28.6 percent, per Bookies.com. That's higher than any other team in the NFL including Jackson's current team, the Ravens.
Do the Vegas oddsmakers know something the general public doesn't? The Jets have skyrocketed to the top and seen their odds of acquiring Jackson increase significantly in recent days.
Is it just a bunch of speculation or is there something brewing at Florham Park? The safe money is on the former, but oddsmakers don't like to lose money. This is a situation worth monitoring over the coming days.

Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson finalists for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Year
The Jets absolutely dominated the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week award this season. Jets rookies received the honor a whopping 10 times this season including a streak of six weeks in a row.
The likes of Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner, and even Zonovan Knight received the award this season. On Tuesday, Pepsi announced the six finalists for their Rookie of the Year award. It should come as no surprise that two Jets made the list.
Wilson and Gardner are both on the ballot alongside other standout rookies such as Aidan Hutchinson, Chris Olave, Kenneth Walker, and Tariq Woolen. Wilson was named Rookie of the Week four times this season (Weeks 2, 8, 12, and 13) while Gardner won the award in Weeks 5, 7, and 9.

Four Jets make most valuable player list
ESPN released its list of the 100 most valuable players in the NFL on Tuesday and four Jets players managed to crack the top 100. Sauce Gardner (20), Quinnen Williams (36), D.J. Reed (58), and Garrett Wilson (99) all made the list.
Gardner was the second-ranked cornerback on the list right behind James Bradberry who placed 19th. Seth Walder, the creator of the list, even insisted that Gardner was likely "placed too low on this list."
Williams was the third-ranked defensive tackle behind Chris Jones and Dexter Lawrence while Reed comfortably slotted in as the ninth-best cornerback in the NFL. Wilson, meanwhile, was ranked as the 16th-best wide receiver in the league.
It's nice to see a player like Reed receive the praise he deserves after he was snubbed out of the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams. This Jets' roster has plenty of high-end talent, and this list is further evidence of that.
