As the NY Jets continue to await the arrival of Haason Reddick, fans and analysis everywhere are searching for the solution to the All-Pro pass rusher's ongoing holdout.

The Jets have publicly and privately made it clear that they have no interest in trading the former Philadelphia Eagles edge rushers, but that hasn't stopped the nonsensical trade proposals from surfacing.

Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine recently predicted that the Jets would trade Reddick to the Baltimore Ravens before the start of the regular season. Of course, reports have suggested that no team is willing to trade for Reddick and give him the contract he's seeking, but who cares about that?

The market isn't there for Reddick and the Jets aren't going to cut bait on an asset they only recently acquired, especially when they can receive a compensatory pick for him in the offseason. The Jets aren't trading Reddick, no matter how many trade proposals have been published over the last few weeks.

Dalvin Cook comments on Jets tenure

The Jets realized pretty quickly into Dalvin Cook's brief and underwhelming tenure in Florham Park that the former Pro Bowler was no longer the player he once was in his prime. They fell for the dreaded fool's gold, and Cook was released before the season ended.

Cook has received another NFL opportunity, however, signing to the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad last week. The former Minnesota Vikings running back discussed his disappointing Jets tenure and seemed to pinpoint one major reason for his struggles.

Cook told reporters that everything changed once Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles last season and that the Jets didn't really have a backup plan. While that's undoubtedly true, it's hard to blame Cook's struggles solely on Rodgers' absence.

"I don't really want to speak on the situation, but when Aaron [Rodgers] went down on Play 4, everything was just a little bit different. There wasn't any emergency plan. ... Aaron went down play four, and it was just kind of like, 'What [do] we do?' That's just what it was."

Dalvin Cook

After all, Cook's former teammate, Breece Hall, finished top-four in the entire NFL in scrimmage yards in the same situation. Rodgers' injury derailed the Jets' entire offensive plans, but Cook's dreadful season had a lot more to do with his own floundering career than it did any external variables.

Jets host ex-Vikings running back on a visit

The Jets could be looking to add a little extra running back and kick returner depth, as the team hosted former Vikings running back/return man Kene Nwangwu for a visit on Monday.

Nwangwu was waived by the Vikings as part of final roster cuts last week and claimed off waivers by the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, the former Iowa State standout failed his physical and was once again waived the following day.

A fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Nwangwu has made his largest impact on special teams as a kick returner, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2022. He has three kick return touchdowns in just three seasons in the NFL.

Nwangwu could be a possible replacement for Xazavian Valladay on the practice squad or he could even be competition for Israel Abanikanda. The Jets are exploring additional kick returner options as we approach Week 1.
