Former NY Jets running back Dalvin Cook isn't ready to hang up the cleats just yet. The four-time Pro Bowler is reportedly visiting with the Dallas Cowboys in hopes of continuing his NFL career, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Cook flew into Dallas on Monday night and reportedly "feels the best he has in years" after training for his NFL comeback this offseason. If there's any running back room Cook could carve out a role, it's probably in Dallas.

The Cowboys' top two running backs are currently fellow washed-up veteran Ezekiel Elliott and former undrafted free agent Rico Dowdle. Elliott hasn't averaged more than 3.8 yards per carry in a season since 2021 while the 26-year-old Dowdle had just seven carries carries entering the 2023 season.

Of course, Cook was abysmal with the Jets last season before an uneventful stint in Baltimore in the postseason. The Cowboys, in typical Jerry Jones fashion, are kicking the tires on a player who was statistically the worst running back in football a year ago because he has name value.

The Jets could take a flyer on Tim Patrick

The Denver Broncos are reportedly expected to move on from veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick despite his strong performance this summer. A number of NFL teams are expected to have interest in the seven-year veteran, and the Jets should be one of them.

Patrick hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2021 after suffering a torn ACL in 2022 and a torn Achilles this past season. At one point, Patrick was one of the most reliable and underrated receivers in the NFL, but injuries have derailed his career.

Still, Patrick shined in the preseason this summer and seemed like a safe bet to make the Broncos' roster. But head coach Sean Payton decided to go with the youth movement, cutting ties with Patrick before he could complete his comeback.

The Jets could use a little extra wide receiver depth, especially given Mike Williams' injury history and Malachi Corley's underwhelming summer. Patrick might be worth an extended look.

Denzel Mims released by the Jaguars

Former Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims was part of Jacksonville Jaguars final roster cuts on Monday, thus ending his latest bid to make an NFL comeback. Mims has not appeared in a game since he was last with the Jets in 2022.

The former second-round pick was traded to the Detroit Lions in July of last year but was waived after less than a month following an injury. He'd join the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad in October, which is where he'd spend the rest of the 2023 season.

Mims was waived by the Steelers in June and signed by the Jaguars the following day. Now, the former Baylor standout is out of a job once again.

The NFL opportunities are running out for a player the Jets once believed could be a building block of their offense moving forward. Mims' football career is officially on life support.
