The NY Jets could really use some defensive tackle help following the departure of Sheldon Rankins, and they might find some in six-time Pro Bowler Calais Campbell.
Campbell is set to visit with the Jets next week along with their AFC East rivals, the Buffalo Bills, per 92.9 The Game's Tiffany Blackmon. This comes after he visited with the Atlanta Falcons and his former team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, this week.
Even at 36 years old, Campbell remains one of the better interior defensive linemen in football. Campbell has been ranked inside the top 20 interior defensive linemen in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus, in 12 of the last 13 seasons. His 76.9 PFF grade was good for 15th out of 127 qualifiers in 2022.
Campbell is just one sack shy of 100 for his career and is likely just looking to sign with a contender at this stage. The potential future Hall of Famer would be a home-run signing for the Jets, especially if it keeps him away from Buffalo.

Odell Beckham 'leaning' toward playing for the Jets
FS1's Craig Carton reported on Friday that the Jets have "discussed the parameters of a contract with Odell Beckham Jr." While nothing is imminent just yet, Carton indicated that Beckham is leaning toward signing with the Jets.
The former All-Pro wide receiver has been heavily connected in Jets rumors, and the team's recent trade of Elijah Moore has fueled speculation that Beckham could be on his way back to New York.
From the Aaron Rodgers connection to Sauce Gardner's FaceTime, the Jets have been the team most closely tied to Beckham. According to Carton, there's substance behind those rumors.
Don't be surprised if we hear a decision from Beckham as early as next week. The Jets appear to be the frontrunners.
Jets offseason dates revealed
The NFL officially revealed the offseason schedule for every team on Friday, the Jets included. The Jets' offseason program will begin on Apr. 17, while OTAs will start on May 22.
The Jets will host OTAs on May 22-23, May 25, May 30-31, Jun. 2, Jun. 5-6, Jun. 8-9, and Jun. 12-14. The team's mandatory minicamp will take place between June 13th and June 15th.
The hope — and expectation — is that Aaron Rodgers will be able to attend OTAs when they begin in May, but the Jets and Green Bay Packers must first work out a trade.
