The NY Jets officially flew out to meet Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in person on Tuesday, sparking rumors that a trade could be imminent. That doesn't appear to be the case, however.
While the Jets did their best to pitch Rodgers on not only joining the team but opting not to retire, it seems as though the future Hall of Fame quarterback is going to take some more time to make a decision.
SNY's Connor Hughes reported Tuesday night that a trade was "not imminent" while NFL Network's Mike Garafalo offered the same sentiment. This situation is still likely to be resolved before free agency unofficially begins next Monday, but it might not be as soon as many believed.
We do know that the Jets and Packers have likely agreed to the framework of a trade, but until Rodgers makes up his mind, that's as far as the two teams can go.

Sauce Gardner and other Jets players recruiting Aaron Rodgers
Jets players really want Aaron Rodgers, and they made that abundantly clear via Twitter on Tuesday. The likes of Sauce Gardner, Breece Hall, and Mekhi Becton all issued tweets of support for their favorite team acquiring Rodgers.
Gardner offered a proposition to Rodgers, insisting that he wouldn't intercept him in practice and that he would burn the cheesehead that he stole from a fan when the Jets played the Packers in Green Bay last year.
Hall tagged Rodgers in a tweet that read "don't mind me...just manifesting" while also replying to another tweet detailing the Jets' interest in Rodgers. Becton simply posted a gif and tagged Rodgers.
It's evident that many players in the Jets' locker room are desperate for their team to land a star quarterback. They want Rodgers.
Jets select Broderick Jones in Todd McShay's mock draft
Let's take a little break from Aaron Rodgers talk, shall we? Turning our attention to the NFL Draft, ESPN's Todd McShay released his first post-Combine mock draft on Tuesday, and he had the Jets selecting Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones.
Jones has been a popular pick for the Jets in mock drafts. The 6-foot-5, 311-pound tackle was the fastest offensive lineman at the Combine, running a blazing 4.97 40-yard dash. It's that combination of size and speed that has many intrigued.
Jones isn't as refined as the likes of Peter Skoronski and Paris Johnson Jr., but his raw upside and physical gifts provide serious upside.
The Jets could very well look to add an offensive tackle in the first round, assuming they still have pick No. 13, and Jones is an obvious fit.
