The New York Jets have had one of the busier offseasons in the NFL thus far. They've already addressed several needs in free agency by signing the likes of John Simpson (OG), Tyron Smith (OT), and Mike Williams.
As a result, we're able to have a more accurate prediction for who they'll target in next month's NFL Draft. Now that they've already addressed the offensive line and wide receiver, there's one name that sticks out above the rest of the remaining candidates to be selected by the Jets: Brock Bowers.
The tight end out of Georgia makes too much sense for New York. It's a positional need for the Jets and Bowers is believed to be one of the top prospects at the position in recent memory.
If you want further proof that the Jets may be the ones to select Bowers, just take a peak at the latest betting odds.
Brock Bowers NFL Draft odds
As of writing this article, the Jets are the +230 betting favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook to select the Georgia tight end. If you translate those odds to implied probability, there's a 30.3% chance New York selects Bowers. Other candidates include the Indianapolis Colts (+400), Cincinnati Bengals (+650), and Los Angeles Chargers (+900).
The Jets currently hold the No. 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft which can make it difficult to predict which direction they'll go. If they don't trade up, there'll be nine other players selected before the Jets are on the clock and their decision will be heavily impacted by which nine players those are.
With that being said, there's a lot to like about the idea of New York taking the Georgia product. It would go a long way it giving Aaron Rodgers another offensive weapon to have next season and would do nothing but boost the Jets' chances of returning to the postseason.
