The NY Jets are preparing for what promises to be a difficult game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. The Cowboys, however, could be without arguably their best player.

Both teams released their second injury reports of the week on Thursday, and while the Jets saw no changes to their list of injured players, a very notable name popped up on the Cowboys' injury report.

Star right guard Zack Martin was added to the injury report on Thursday and listed as limited with a groin injury. This is notable as it suggests Martin suffered the injury in practice.

This has obviously led to some concern amongst Cowboys fans that Martin could be sidelined for the team's upcoming game against the Jets. It should be noted that Martin participated in his normal media session, so it's unclear just how severe the injury is.

The NY Jets could face a depleted Cowboys squad in Week 2

Martin's status will be worth monitoring on Friday as both teams practice for the final time before Sunday's game. If Martin is limited again or doesn't practice at all, his status for Week 2 might be in jeopardy.

The Cowboys were already without starting left guard Tyler Smith in Week 1, as former Jets offensive lineman Chuma Edoga started in his place. Smith did not practice on either Wednesday or Thursday, meaning that he could be in line to miss another game.

Dallas could realistically be down both of their starting guards in Week 2. They also seem likely to be without wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who hasn't practiced this week while dealing with a sprained MCL.

While the Cowboys haven't ruled Cooks out yet, he seems more likely than not to miss Week 2. That could mean more targets for the likes of CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, as well as second-year wide receiver Jalen Tolbert.

As for the Jets, three players were listed as limited participants on Wednesday and Thursday: left tackle Duane Brown (shoulder), right tackle Mekhi Becton (knee), and running back Breece Hall (knee). All three are expected to play on Sunday.

Keep a close eye on the Cowboys' final injury report, which will be released later today. Zack Martin is the player to watch.
