NY Jets make NFL history with Black Friday Football

For the first time ever, there will be an NFL game played on the infamous Black Friday. That's right ladies and gentlemen, this upcoming season, it'll be the debut of "Black Friday Football" and will feature an AFC East division rivalry game between the NY Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Jets will be a part of NFL history and it could usher in a new yearly tradition.

Taking place on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 3 PM Eastern Time, the Jets will take on the Dolphins in front of the home crowd in MetLife Stadium. Considering how solid these two teams should be at that point of the regular season, this should be a very good football game.

The NFL is smart in trying to add more epic matchups on days that could honestly use them. Historically known for enjoying leftover turkey or trying to get huge discounted deals in retail, Black Friday is a huge event for many people in this country. Now there's another event to enjoy in pro football.

Football fans across the globe can now get used to enjoying some football on Black Friday besides on Thanksgiving Day. It would make a ton of sense for the NFL to at least have one game or even two games tops on Black Friday and perhaps strictly keep them division rivalry games. It wouldn't be a good idea to just throw any game on Black Friday but maybe keeping it division rivalry games that are actually worth watching could be a staple for many years to come.

Overall, this should be a huge game for the Jets, especially at such a pivotal part of the regular season. One never knows what their playoff situation will be come late November so for all we know, this game could have even more implications than ever before.
