NY Jets inactives list for Week 5 game against Vikings
By Justin Fried
The NY Jets will meet the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL's first London game of the season today in Week 5. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets hope to return to their winning ways following an upset loss at the hands of the Denver Broncos last Sunday.
They'll do so with a somewhat shorthanded roster. While Rodgers is dealing with a knee injury that caused him to pop up on the injury report this week, the four-time MVP will be active and starting for the team against Minnesota.
The same can't be said for right tackle Morgan Moses, who has been ruled out with a knee injury for the second week in a row. Rookie Olu Fashanu is expected to start in his place for at least one more game.
Linebacker C.J. Mosley is listed as doubtful and is expected to miss another week. Meanwhile, nose tackle Leki Fotu returned to practice this week but was not activated to the 53-man roster and will not play today. Since he was never activated he does not have to be listed as a game-day inactive.
The same is true for standout Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson. Hockenson is working his way back from a torn ACL and was a limited participant in Friday's practice, but he has not yet been activated to the 53-man roster.
Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Vikings today? We've got you covered.
Full inactives list for NY Jets in Week 5
- RB Israel Abanikanda
- CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse
- WR Malachi Corley
- OT Max Mitchell
- OT Morgan Moses
- LB C.J. Mosley
- DE Braiden McGregor
The Jets will be without starting right tackle Morgan Moses for another week. Moses suffered an MCL sprain in the Jets' Week 3 win over the New England Patriots and was forced to miss last week's game as well.
Rookie Olu Fashanu will start in his place, but there is optimism Moses will be able to return to the field for the Jets' Monday Night Football matchup with the Buffalo Bills in Week 6. This could be the last game Moses misses.
Linebacker C.J. Mosley is also out another week with a toe injury that has sidelined him since Week 2. Jamien Sherwood will continue to start alongside Quincy Williams with Chazz Surratt taking reps in the base formation. Marcelino McCrary-Ball was elevated again to take Mosley's place on the game-day roster.
Running back Israel Abanikanda and cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse are regular inactives at this point. Abanikanda has been inactive every week while Bernard-Converse was only active in Week 2 due to the absence of D.J. Reed.
Rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley is a healthy scratch after playing just two offensive snaps in the first four games of the season. This helps make room for quarterback Adrian Martinez, who was elevated from the practice squad.
Leonard Taylor III is active this week as the Jets chose not to elevate Bruce Hector. Braiden McGregor is the lone inactive defensive lineman.

- WR Trishton Jackson
- QB Brett Rypien (third quarterback)
- CB Fabian Moreau
- CB Dwight McGlothern
- DL Levi Drake Rodriguez
- DL Jalen Redmond

All of the Vikings' seven inactives are healthy scratches. Minnesota is still without star tight end T.J. Hockenson as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL, but he is not yet on the 53-man roster.
Former Jets quarterback Brett Rypien will be the Vikings' emergency third QB for today's game. He is only eligible to play if both Sam Darnold and Nick Mullens were to suffer injuries.
Linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. returns after missing the last two games due to injury. He is off the injury report and officially active.
