The NY Jets are moments away from an important Week 8 clash with their crosstown rivals, the New York Giants. For the Jets, they'll be trying to extend their winning streak over the Giants to three games.

The Giants haven't defeated the Jets in a regular season game in over a decade, but that means nothing come today's game. They have every opportunity to escape with a much-needed victory.

This is a Jets team that's riding a bit of momentum following two straight victories over the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles. Including their bye week, the Jets haven't lost a game in nearly a month.

Unfortunately, history isn't on their side when it comes to bye weeks. The Jets have won only one of their last 10 games following a bye week — that coming all the way back in 2015.

The Jets will be hoping to buck that trend in today's game against a Giants team that's garnered a little momentum of their own. The Giants are coming off a massive divisional win over the Washington Commanders last week and nearly upset the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago.

Tyrod Taylor has the Giants playing safe and competent football on offense while their defense has shined in recent weeks. That's something the Jets are going to have to be cautious of today.
