We are mere weeks away from the start of NY Jets training camp. Most of the roster seems to be decided already, but there are some spots that are question marks at this point.

Last season, the Jets had seven of their players claimed on the waiver wire after the 53-man cuts, by far the most in the NFL. With the depth of this roster this year, we could possibly see something similar.

Let’s take a look at what the 53-man roster could look like at the start of the regular season.

NY Jets quarterbacks (2)

  • Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson

No surprises here. Aaron Rodgers will be the starter, and Zach Wilson will be the backup. Tim Boyle and Chris Streveler are two options to be brought back on the practice squad.

NY Jets running backs (4)

  • Breece Hall, Michael Carter, Israel Abanikanda, Zonovan Knight

Again, no real surprises here. I do not think the Dalvin Cook rumors will amount to anything.

Hopefully, Hall will be 100 percent by the first few weeks of the season, but even if he is not, the trio of Carter, Abanikanda, and Knight should suffice. Whenever Hall is healthy, he will see the bulk of the carries, with the other three mixed in when needed.

Undrafted free agent Travis Dye could be a practice squad candidate along with fullback Nick Bawden.
