It's been a long time since the NY Jets weren't viewed as one of the worst teams in the NFL, let alone a top-15 organization. But entering Week 6, that's exactly where some outlets have the Jets ranked.

No this isn't a mirage. It's not some alternate dimension. This is reality, as strange as it may feel for Jets fans who have watched their team occupy the NFL's basement for the better part of the last decade.

The Jets were ranked 12th in the entire league in Pro Football Talk's Week 6 NFL power rankings — surely the highest they've been ranked in over half a decade.

They managed to rise four spots from last week's rankings while their Week 5 opponents, the Miami Dolphins, fell nine spots all the way to 14th. Some notable teams the Jets were ahead of include the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, and New England Patriots.

Pro Football Talk is not the only outlet showing the Jets some love. CBS Sports' power rankings have the Jets ranked 14th, up a whopping 12 spots from last week.

The Jets are making waves throughout the NFL, and there's a chance they could even crack the top 10 if they can score another upset victory in Week 6.

The NY Jets could be ranked as a top-10 team after Week 6

The Jets travel to the daunting Lambeau Field to take on the not-so-daunting Green Bay Packers in Week 6. Fresh off an upset loss to the New York Giants, the Packers look beatable despite their lofty 7.5-point favorite status for Sunday's game.

The Packers are the better team on paper, but the Jets have proven this season that they're not just going to roll over in most instances, especially with Zach Wilson back under center.

The Jets are the highest-scoring fourth-quarter team in the NFL. They've outscored their opponents 79-20 in the final 15 minutes of games. Even when it appears they're down, they're far from out.

That resiliency could serve them well as the season progresses and it could come in handy against a Packers team with their backs against the wall.

Green Bay can ill-afford another loss to a New York team in Week 6. As star cornerback Jaire Alexander put it, they won't be worried about the state of the team unless they lose to the Jets.

Why not the Jets? Why not another upset? Why can't we be talking about the Jets as a top-10 team in the NFL?

For now, Jets fans will simply enjoy the most positive press the team has received in years. Robert Saleh's list of receipts is growing shorter by the day.
