Former NY Jets coach Rex Ryan is certainly diversifying his resume as he was recently announced one of the contestants on season 34 of CBS' "The Amazing Race."

The reality TV show follows 12 teams of two who embark on a race around the world equipped with a very limited budget. The pair who reaches the final destination first is awarded $1 million dollars.

Ryan is partnered with his friend Tim Mann for the series, and together they'll compete against other duos -- long lost twins, former NFL cheerleaders, and more.

Ryan spoke a bit about his friendship with Mann in a promo video for the show.

"Where our story kinda started was, his love for the Buffalo Bills. And the fact that I failed miserably as the coach of the Buffalo Bills."

Rex Ryan is moving onto very interesting hobbies in his post-Jets career

Currently an analyst for ESPN, Ryan coached the Jets for six years from 2009 to 2014 and then spent a short stint on the Buffalo Bills.

He led the Jets to two straight winning seasons in 2009 and 2010, and in his first three seasons the Jets landed in the top-five in yards per game allowed each year.

Over the course of his career, Ryan gained a reputation for his outspoken personality and has since settled comfortably into his analyst role, unafraid to criticize his former team.

Ryan's appearance on "The Amazing Race" will be... interesting, to say the least. His NFL experience doesn't seem particularly useful when it comes to traveling the world, but Ryan will surely make the most out of his experience.

If anything, it gives him other things to do rather than just bash the NY Jets in 2022.
