Count former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant among those who believe in NY Jets wideout Garrett Wilson entering the 2023 season. Bryant has high hopes for the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The former All-Pro wide receiver replied to a tweet hyping up Wilson with a comment that simply read "Fantasy WR1." Bryant seems to believe that Wilson will be the No. 1 wide receiver in all of fantasy football this season.

Even if you're not an avid fantasy football enthusiast, I'd venture to say that pretty much every Jets fan would sign up for this prediction. Bryant believes Wilson will be the most productive wide receiver in football this season.

Wilson would join the illustrious likes of Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, and Davante Adams as players who finished as the top wide receiver in fantasy over the last few years. That's quite the prediction for the second-year wideout.

Garrett Wilson could be primed for a monster second season with the NY Jets

The 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Wilson burst onto the scene as a rookie and almost immediately established himself as the Jets' new top wide receiver.

Despite being saddled with the worst quarterback play in the league, Wilson set new Jets rookie records with 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns. It was enough to earn him Offensive Rookie of the Year — the first player in franchise history to win the award (excluding AFL winners).

If Wilson could do that with Zach Wilson and friends throwing him the ball, it's easy to see why many believe his production will skyrocket with Aaron Rodgers now at quarterback.

Rodgers has made a career out of making his receivers look good, and the two wasted little time establishing chemistry with one another this spring. Wilson is the guy in this Jets' offense, and his target share should be reflective of that.

A large percentage of targets, excellent production even in a bad offense, and an improved situation? Yeah, Dez Bryant might be on to something here.

Of course, usurping the likes of Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, and others won't be easy, but Wilson finds himself in a perfect situation to succeed in 2023. Combine that with his obvious talent, and you might just have the NFL's fantasy WR1 this season.

Bryant's take is bold, but it's not an unreasonable one. Don't be surprised if Garrett Wilson finds his way into the top tier of fantasy wide receivers before long.
