The NY Jets have one of the best running backs in the NFL in Breece Hall. A second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Hall quickly emerged as a standout player for the Jets, but it wasn't until his second season that he truly broke out as a star.
Hall tore his ACL just seven games into his rookie season, which understandably curbed expectations for his sophomore campaign in 2023. What followed was one of the best post-ACL tear seasons we've seen from a running back (or any player, for that matter) in recent memory.
Hall finished fourth in the entire NFL in scrimmage yards, posting efficient numbers in an abysmal offense. The sky is the limit for Hall, who also happens to be one of the faster running backs in the league, especially at his size.
But just how fast is Hall? How fast was Hall's 40-yard dash? Let's take a look at how fast the Jets' star running back really is.
Analyzing Breece Hall's 40-Yard Dash Performance
Hall was clocked at running a blazing 4.39 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL Combine. That time ranked sixth among all running backs in the 2022 NFL Draft class.
It should also be noted that Hall is a lot larger than all of the running backs who placed ahead of him. At 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, very few running backs in the NFL have the combination of size and speed that he does.
Hall's 9.96 Relative Athletic Score (RAS) is evidence of the former Iowa State star's impressive blend of size and athleticism. His remarkable 40-yard dash time is, of course, included in that score.
That 2022 draft class was also historic for running backs. That year marked the first time that six different running backs recorded a 40-yard dash time of under 4.40 seconds. Hall was a part of that history.
The Jets know just how special of a player they have in Breece Hall. His blazing speed is just a part of what makes him the incredible talent that he is.
