2. Marcedes Lewis, TE

Of the four names on Aaron Rodgers' supposed "wishlist" this offseason, the Jets wound up signing two of them — Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. One of them, Odell Beckham Jr., was heavily pursued before he agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens.

The other remains a free agent. That player, of course, is veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis.

Lewis has ample experience with a number of members of the Jets' coaching staff. From Nathaniel Hackett to Robert Saleh to Ron Middleton, Lewis has crossed paths with current Jets coaches in both Jacksonville and Green Bay.

The Jets' tight end room is relatively set, and expecting the 39-year-old Lewis to contribute much is probably a stretch. Still, few free agents have more ties to the Jets than Lewis does. There's also the Aaron Rodgers factor which can't be ignored.

1. Kwon Alexander, LB

This is the obvious one. Of the nine players on this list, the most likely to sign with the Jets is linebacker Kwon Alexander.

Alexander was signed by the Jets in early August last year, and he would go on to serve an important role as one of the team's starting linebackers. The 28-year-old appeared in all 17 games for the first time in his career, playing 49 percent of the team's defensive snaps.

You could argue that Alexander was the Jets' second-best linebacker in 2022. The team remains interested in bringing him back, but the biggest obstacle has been agreeing on a price tag.

If Alexander lowers his asking price or the Jets become more desperate, it's very easy to see the former Pro Bowler finding his way back to Florham Park. Of course, his history with Robert Saleh and the entire Jets defensive coaching staff is a primary reason why.
