4. STUD: Eddy Pineiro, K, NY Jets

Have the Jets solved their kicking woes? While it may be a bit premature to suggest that, the newly-signed Eddy Pineiro was perfect on Sunday.

Pineiro made two kicks from 36 yards out and another from 46 yards finishing the day 3-for-3 on field goals. The former Chicago Bears kicker was responsible for all nine of the Jets' points.

The eruption from the crowd when Pineiro made his first field goal should say it all. After years of kicker incompetency, these fans are starved for competent play out of the position. Pineiro provided that on Sunday.

5. DUD: Denzel Mims, WR, NY Jets

Many fans had clamored to see former second-round pick Denzel Mims receive more snaps on Sundays. And with a golden opportunity this week with Corey Davis and Elijah Moore out, Mims was finally going to get the chance to play a featured role in the offense.

Instead, he was a complete non-factor before two boneheaded penalties saw him benched in favor of former undrafted free agent D.J. Montgomery who was making his NFL debut.

Now we see why the Jets don't trust Mims to play significant snaps. He couldn't create separation when on the field, was flagged for a foolish illegal hands to the face penalty, and on the same drive got flagged again for lining up in the wrong spot sparking an illegal formation foul.

If you're getting benched for a former undrafted free agent who was elevated from the practice squad less than 24 hours ago, you probably did something wrong.

Mims was a liability on Sunday, and even with Davis and Moore sidelined, there's no guarantee he'll have the same role come next week.
